Aluddin khilji was one of the great Muslim rulers of Delhi while rani Padmavti was the queen of Rajput fort Chittor. A poem written by Malik Muhammad Jayasi deals with Chittor king Ratansen, Alauddin khilji and Padmavati. Aluddin khilji was in love with this Perfect Women Rani Padmavati. Aluddin khilji wants to get Padmavati at any cost even by attaching fort of Chittor. But most of the modern historian states this story to be fictional.  Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati’s story is fabricated or fictional to create curiosity and attention among people. The story of Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati finds itself nowhere in the history except Jayasi’s poem.

Alauddin khilji was the most powerful ruler of khilji dynasty. He came to power by killing his own uncle. After that, he also killed for more power founder of Khilji dynasty Jalaludin Khilji. Afterwards, he also killed Jalaludin sons in Multan to surpass any chance of mutiny in the kingdom. Alauddin was the most powerful ruler of India at this time and have the ability to capture any fort in India. He was able to capture more than 12 Hindu kingdoms in the region.

Most famous of these kingdoms was Chittor because of its Rani Padmavati. Often referred to as a story of lust the story of  Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati. This story finds its mention in the poem written by Malik Muhammad Jayasi  “Padmavat“. Alauddin Khiliji captured fort Chittor after the 8-month siege. Some later Historians says Alauddin Khiliji invaded Chittoor to fulfil his desire to meet Padmavati. But most historians believe this story to be fictional as there is no proof of its authenticity. The most historian believes(in the story of Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati) Padmavati was a completely fictional character and Alauddin khilji was the real king of Delhi.

Rani Padmavati is also known as Padmini in literature gain fame after the poem “Padmavat” which was written by Malik Muhammad Jayasi. Rani Padmavati was the exceptional beautiful princess of a kingdom in Srilanka. The Ruler of Chittor kingdom was Ratansen has fond of the beauty of Padmavati. After many tries, he was able to marry Padmavati and bring her to Chittor. Alauddin khilji was Sultan of Delhi at that time also heard about her from his Wazir. This creates curiosity inside him to see Padmavati. Alauddin Khilji wanted to make deal with the ruler of Chittor Ratansen. But Ratansen hesitated because of Rajput tradition.

Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati were definitely not like that as defined in “Padmavat” poem. Alaudin Khiliji went to attack Chittor as he has no option left as his deal was rejected. And attaching Chittor was not easy and it takes 8 months to completely capture the fort. Some legends say Padmavati killed herself to get away from Alaudin Khiliji by attempting Jauhar Kund (Hindu Ritual in which royal women kill themselves by jumping into the fire to save herself from attackers). Some legends also say Alaudin Khiliji was able to see her. Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati’s story is completely fictional or it was fabricated some extent. Historians have different versions of this story.

Padmavati movie controversy (Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati)

Bollywood is releasing a new movie based on the poem “Padmavati“. The movie describes Padmavati to be Rajput Queen. Ranveer Singh is playing the role of Alaudin khilji. Role of Alaudin khilji in the movie described being barbaric to some extent. And Alaudin Khiliji was Muslim ruler. This creates sentiments among Muslims living in India. Rajputs living in India are angry because of the role of Rajput Queen Padmavati. So a Muslim ruler tries to capture a Rajput queen and fort. For all these reasons Rajputs takes the case to the Supreme court. Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati’s story is controversial because if its biased and uncleared history.

Supreme court after all proceeding completed refused the plea of Rajputs to ban Padmavati movie in India. Now all cards are on hand of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to decide about the certificate of the movie. BJP ruling party of India don’t want to release this movie in India. Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati’s movie create non-ending drama within India.

Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati’s story either completely fictional or completely fabricated to create curiosity among people. Many dramas and movies made by Bollywood show a different story every time. No matter how was the character of Alauddin khilji but he definitely was the great warrior and conquer of his time. At this time no other conquer holds big territory as Alauddin Khilji do. In history, no ruler completely hold all of India except British so the ruler holding Delhi considered to be king of India. In this way, we can say he was king of India at this time.

On the hand, Rani Padmavati was a powerful queen of Chittorgarh as mentioned in the poem. She holds black and white of Chittorgarh and fought against Khilji ruler Alauddin Khilji bravely. Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati were not like Romeo and Juliet of Shiekhspear as it was one-sided love. The story of Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati not historically proven. Alauddin Khilji did attack Chittorgarh in 1303 but historian at that time didn’t mention any queen of chittor. The writer of the story of Alauddin Khilji and Padmavati mention these word at the end of his poem.
