8 Simple Facts of Jesus Christ In Holy Quran (History Of Islam)

As a Muslim, It is the Basic requirement to be Muslim that you should believe in Jesus, Moses, Abraham and many other Prophets to be Muslim. Jesus Christ In Holy Quran is mentioned more time than Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by his name. Jesus Christ In Holy Quran is mentioned with the name of Isa (AS).

1. Number Of Times Prophet Jesus Christ In Holy Quran Mentioned:

Jesus Christ In Holy Quran is mentioned directly or indirectly 187 times, 25 times mentioned by direct name Isa (Jesus in English). These stats prove the significance of Jesus in Islam and Muslim Community. All Muslims believes in Jesus Christ no matter of sects either it is Sunni or Shi’as.

All Muslims will proudly say:

We All love Jesus and Mother Mary. 

2. Mother Mary Of Jesus Christ In Holy Quran:

In Holy Quran, Mary considered to virgin just like Christian believes. In Holy Quran, Mary is mentioned 32 times with name Marriyam which shows her significance in Islam.

At length she brought the (babe) to her people, carrying him (in her arms). They said: “O Mary! truly an amazing thing you have brought! “O sister of Aaron! your father was not a man of evil, nor your mother an unchaste woman!” But she pointed to the babe. They said: “how can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?” He said: “I am indeed a servant of Allah. ”  [Quran 19:26-30]

In this verse, Mary being a virgin holy lady came back with newly born Jesus in her hand. People start criticising her and at moment Jesus speaks up to defend her mother and proves her innocence. There is the whole chapter in name of the mother of Jesus Christ In Holy Quran with name Marriyam (meaning Mary in English).

3. Believes of Muslim about Jesus Christ In Holy Quran:

Muslim believes that Jesus was born miraculously without the father and her mother Mary being a virgin. At this point also Christians and Muslims are on the same page Most of Christians believes the same.

The similitude of Jesus before Allah is as that of Adam; He created him from dust, then said to him: “Be”: and he was.Quran 3:59 ]

In this verse, Almighty God is giving example about the birth of Jesus Christ that Humans shouldn’t about power and control of God. As God has done this before when he created Adam without father and mother while Jesus Christ is only created without Father.

4. Miracles of Jesus Christ In Holy Quran:

Muslims believes in almost all miracles of Jesus Christ as a Christian. Muslims believes in following miracles of Jesus Christ.

  • Speaking from the cradle as Newly born baby.
  • Creating birds from clay
  • Healing leper and blind
  • Waking up a dead man
  • Prescience: Can tell what other person has eaten etc. 

All most all of these miracles  mentioned in Holy Quran in verse:

I will make for you from clay the likeness of a bird and then I will breathe into it and by the leave of Allah it will become a bird. I will also heal the blind and the leper, and by the leave of Allah bring the dead to life, I will also inform you of what things you eat and what you treasure up in your houses. ” [Quran 3:49]

In above verse, Jesus is saying he all of those miracles with permission of God. Almost all of these miracles are also believed by Christians.

5. Death Of Jesus Christ In Holy Quran:

In Quran God mentions that Jesus (PBUH) in following verse.

” they said (in boast), ” We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah “;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them ” [Quran 4:157]

In this verse, It is clear that Jesus was not killed or crucified. God is speaking directly to the People that this concept Jesus Christ as not crucified rather he was taken up by Angels alive.

6. Second Coming of Jesus Christ In Holy Quran:

Just like Christian believe that Jesus Christ will come back the second time to make God’s kingdom on earth Just like as it is in heaven. Same believe is there in Islam, Muslim believe there Messiah Jesus Christ will come back to spread God religion in all world. This can be seen in Quran in this verse.

“He shall speak to people while still in the cradle, and in manhood, and he shall be from the righteous.” (Quran 3:46)

In this verse of Quran, Jesus will speak in the cradle as well in manhood. In Arab, manhood with full abilities is considered at age of 40 with max brain active. Jesus Christ took up from this world at age of 33, So he will come back. Other details are mentioned in Hadith of Muhammad (SAW).

7. As Messenger of God Jesus Christ In Holy Quran:

Jesus Christ was a messenger of God and mentioned in Quran much time. Here is the verse where it is mentioned

” Jesus, the son of Mary, said: “O Children of Israel! I am the Messenger of Allah (sent) to you, confirming the Law (which came) before me ” [Quran 61:6]

Christian also believes that Jesus Christ sent by God to Mankind.

8. Prophecy of Muhammad (SAW) by God in Bible:

God gave prophecy of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to Prophet Moses. He said you have to follow to Follow Muhammad (SAW) when he came. Muhammad (SAW) mentioned in Deuteronomy 18:18. Here is verse.

“I will raise up for them a prophet like you from among their fellow Israelites, and I will put my words in his mouth. He will tell them everything I command him”  [DEUTERONOMY 18:18]

Fellow Israelites are also from the same family of Prophet Abraham. Prophet Abraham has three sons. One son gave birth to Prophet Israel. From another son, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was born.


Muslims also believes in Prophet Jesus Christ to be the messenger of God just as Christians. All Muslims believes he (Jesus Christ) was born miraculously.
